Camden
Arkansas will be having its 51st Annual barn Sale on September 28th. The Camden Arkansas Barn Sale has become one
of the most well attractions in the small city. The Camden Barn Sale has grown
to be a major tourist attraction overall. Thousands of people from all over the
region are known to attend the event every year and thoroughly enjoys its entertainment
and activities. The Camden Arkansas barn Sale originally started off as a flea
market according to its event history, but over the 51 years it has grown into
the largest Arts and Crafts Show of South Arkansas. Even though the event promotes
Arts and Crafts for the most part, business owners are welcomed to have a booth
and promote their businesses.
There
are over 130 booths that are present every year at the Camden Arkansas Barn
Sale. The Barn sale is known for its hand crafted gifts that can be purchased
such as customized cups, plates, forks, wooden silverware, and etc. Floral
arrangements, handmade clothing, jewelry, stained glass, and toys are always
available to purchase at the barn sale.
The site where the barn sale is historically a plantation site as well as a site that has oak trees that are look at as a significance. The landscape site is known to give visitors and shoppers a beautiful view as fall is on its way. According to some residents of Camden Arkansas, the barn sale isn’t often supported by people of color due to its biased history. Historical facts state that people of color were not allowed to attend and shop at the Barn Sale back in the day, as well as the Daffodil Festival which is held in march.
Regardless
of the disturbing historical facts about the barn Sale being biased in the
past, many other visitors and residents have stated that business owners and
vendors are very polite and welcoming to its guest. The Camden Barn Sale brings
in multitudes of people that are from and considered to be outsiders of the
community of Camden Arkansas.
Not only does the Barn Sale feature great as well as amazing arts and crafts, but entertainment from talented local artist are also a part of the event. LB Crew who is originally from Eldorado Arkansas and who was a runner up on the hit TV show “The Voice” has been rumored to be present on Saturday. The barn sale will begin at 9:30am and end at 4:30pm. Anyone who is free to attend on Saturday is encouraged and welcomed to shop and find their hearts desires at the local event on Saturday
